1,000 too many pens

I have finally finished what Nicole had started and completed TOS staff of 23!!!  It's an awesome and yet scary feeling because now I know the season is just around the corner.  EEK!  I experienced my first rookie mistake this week by ordering 1,000 too many pens than we needed for the instructors this season, oops.  Although in my defense the same company just 2 different styles of pen I have ordered come in different sized packaging (one style came by the dozen, another by a box of 60 count).  Super inconsistent.

Terrence visited for the weekend so I went to see "that 1 guy" with Laura and Terrence.  AWESOME concert!  That man was phenomenal!!!!  The next day we all, including Nicole, had brunch in Austin and saw a movie as well.  I am not even going to mention the name of the movie because A. it was awful and B. I don't remember the name.  Overall, it was an excellent weekend though :)

1/28/2011 - Terrence and Laura (Babs) with That 1 Guy.  Oddly enough, Babs and That 1 Guy have the exact same smile.

01/29/2011 - Somehow during brunch fake dry heaving came into conversation.  I was not very good at faking the heaves.

1/30/2011 - Socrates and Yoda in my bedroom.  Yoda fits perfectly in between the bed and the window.  She's tiny.  Socrates takes up the entire bed...he's huge.

1/31/2011- The swimming pool on property

1/31/2011 - A bird chillin' on the spur at the pool.

Band Oh Brothers

It's been almost a week since I posted some pictures, I'm not so hot at this technology stuff. *sigh* Today was a rough day as I posted on the google buzz this was the main story of my day:

1. Spilled coffee on my shirt
2. Spilled soup on my pants
3. Stung by a bee
4. Computer did not work for 2.5 days and didn't work all morning
5. Ordered 1,000 more pens than I should have for the instructors

This was one of those days where all I did was laugh about it.  So really it was a funny day rather than a sad day...and I got to Skype with Kyle tonight so it was a SUPERB day in the end :)

1/22/2011 - Lindsay on Nicole's little couch....sadly at this time this is the only piece of furniture in Nicole's sweet new apartment.

1/23/2011 - The first night I saw Baby Deer which I heard camp apparently claimed.  He was with a bunch of other wild deer however he was too quick for the pic so I took one of the sunset instead.

1/24/2011 - The day the computers went down....Moak Sir and Mr. Wiggy resorted to snail mail.

1/25/2011- Baby Deer alone and acting like Camp Champions' pet once again!!  Woohoo my first legit interaction with Baby Deer in front of the maintenance shed!!!

1/26/2011 - Crystal's (camp retreat intern) car has a carstache...no joke people.

1/27/2011 - The infamous chair where I got my first Texas bee sting.  The chairs were all together in a half circle earlier, odd.  The back blue ones are the more guilty chairs of this incident.

Theresa's Birthday Week (random title)

The excitement of a new job is beginning to wear down one me.  I love the job but I notice I am not waking up 1.5 hours before I actually need to with excitement.  I now wake up 30 min before I need to get to work.  Oh well.  The weird excitement was bound to run out at some point.  I still love the job and the people so that is always a plus :)

Lindsay is coming to visit this weekend so yay!!  Good weekend planned!!!!

Week 2 of Texas life completed

I got 2 hires this past week!  YAY!  I also spent this Saturday volunteering in Austin even though it was rainy.  Guilt got the best of me and I spent a portion of my Saturday in a mud field harvesting veggies for a non-profit youth urban farm organization.  Good muddy fun.

I am proud to also say that I am almost done with unpacking my old apartment into two tiny rooms (bedroom and bathroom).  Phew.  That has been a bit overwhelming and I avoided doing it quite a bit because I had no clue where to put things.  Either way I am finally almost done!!!  Cannot wait for a new week to start.  Now for some photos from the last few days....

1/13/2011 - A picture from my car the day electricity was out and I was heading home.  The maintenance team was burning grass because apparently that helps it grow back nicer.

1/14/2011 - My breakfast from the Pink Ribbon Diet.  I am finally becoming a cook!!!!!!

1/15/2011 - MLK Volunteer Day in Austin.  This was the muddy field o' fun.

1/16/2011 - Me, Emily, Em and Rob at River City Grill for the Bears game against the SeaHawks in the playoffs.  Bears won WOOT WOOT!

Week 1 completed of my new home

I performed two interviews today!  Woot Woot!  I liked both candidates so that makes me happy.  So the new job is going well thus far and my new Pink Ribbon Diet is going well too!  Super healthy eating which is making me feel good about my self yay!

Only downfall is that I miss my family and friends like crazy, especially as Molly would put it, "Aunt Madeline's Kyle."  *sigh*  Anyways, things are overall good though and I am happy so far with the decisions I have made.

I am going to leave with pictures I took from the last few days.  I have been doing a great job with the picture a day challenge YAY!  Just really bad at the posting the pictures, eek.  I'm off to go work on getting my roomie's cat to like my cat.

1/10/2011 - The awkward cat showdown.  Everyone is laying down for the great cat introduction...weird.

1/11/2011- The spur.  Claimed to be the world's largest spur.  This is the entry way into our property.

1/12/2011- The diagonal view from my desk, Becky's work area.

The Photo Challenge

I've decided to work on making more routine in my life.  What better way to do this??  A fun way!!!!  I may be the only person who reads this and that's okay because I am actually doing this more or less for myself.  However, if people like what they see and read then AWESOME!

I am challenging myself to taking at least one photograph a day.  The picture can be of whatever I like but I have to at least take one.  I have just recently moved to the Hill Country of Texas from the Chicagoland area so I really should not have too much difficulty finding new things to photograph.

I started this challenge on January 6th.  I am also challenging myself to blog about possibly the pic but also how my new life and job are going in Texas.  So whether this blog is for me to post the pic a day on or if it is something I am going to use to just vent or share news with then so be it.  All I know is that in the end I would like to have formed some concept of routine in my life :)

Below are the last four days (including today) of the pictures I have taken.

Madeline.

01/06/2011 -  This is my bedroom before any heavy unpacking happened.

01/07/2011 - Nicole, former Personnel Director, is training me for the position.

01/08/2011 - This is Yoda.  She is the resident cat of the new home, whom Socrates is attempting to befriend.   Yoda does not like him very much yet :(

01/09/2011 - This Zebra apparently lives approximately 200 yards from me on our property.  We're boarding her because there is an ordinance in her owner's neighborhood that claims no zebras allowed.  The zebra's name is Amber.
